Born in West Cork, Ireland, Catherine and Brida Goggin were independent sisters who traveled through Ellis Island enroute to Portland, Oregon to join other family members who had settled there. As a tribute to the Goggin, Harrington, Corkrey and Boland families, as well as all the others who traveled through Ellis Island with whatever they could carry, Nora Nora offers three bags for sale.
Though they carried little, the Irish brought with them their big hearts, strong hands to work with and lightness and laughter when all else fails!
